Speak clearly
So I can hear you
I can read minds
But
I’m lazy so I don’t care to
Say my name
Three times
I’ll be near you
Take away your fear too
I know that the challenge
Really scares you
I seem so spaced out
Kind of unaware too
I see everything
But I have rules
That I adhere to
My stare
It’s kind of cold too
Would feel strange
When I hold you
That was a long prologue
I appear to
Have gotten carried away
What am I trying to say
Is this specific
Just happened today
Well
I have a sculpture
I made it from clay
I can bring her to life
Mould her my way
But I love strength
What am I trying to say
A lioness
Who would fight me
For play
Thick skin
Bite marks would vanish
Won’t stay
So what am I trying … Continue reading

100 Day Story: Day 0000
So the story begins
With
Once Upon a Time
There was a woman with a child
A daughter
In a house
Maybe there was laughter
There was also a knight
Whose best friend was Truth
Awkward at times
But confidently mute
And they loved stories
With happy endings
Especially love stories
When
They needed something
To believe in
So the story begins
Once Upon a Time
There was a princess
Locked away in the furthest
Corner of a dark castle
Waiting
Longing for a prince
Who would go through the hassle
Cross the river Styx
To kiss her lips
Wake her from slumber
If only
She hadn’t changed her number
100 Day Story: Day 009
It was Monday
Lunch may
Have been tasty
Somewhere
Where she wasn’t
Thinking of her friend
Seen his number
Decided not to call
Back
That wasn’t the way to treat him
Then
Again
Would he want to hear
Be the shoulder
That soaked up the tears
Of her marriage
Coming to an end
Or would he just pretend
It wasn’t affecting him
His pride
Belonged to
Men among men
Would she have to
Lose her clothes
Go past the barriers of –
Or was she just afraid
Of rejection
Too soon
Too soon
The reality of choice
Is that when the choice
You want
Is the only choice
You have
How do you know if it’s the choice
You want
Time
She needed it
To soak it all in
She had remembered
On that Saturday morning
How empty the house had been
No husband
After sleeping and waking
Finally noticing … Continue reading
100 Day Story: Day 008
He woke up
As Truth walked in the room
He didn’t expect her back
So soon
Didn’t have time
To lie
To cover up
Did try
To pull the covers up
There was no tension
No anger in the air
Instead Truth was apologising
And thanking him
For letting her stay
Near
His private space
That wasn’t for a friend
Who was temporarily
Taking the space
Of his wife to be
Truth said
She enjoyed her time
And would love to remain close
Even if it was just
Conversationally
And ‘dumbfoundedly’
He responds with
“That’s okay with me.”
Still trying to make sense
Of the turn of events
A day later
Eating breakfast
Or trying to
Think-ing This should be
A sad atmosphere
With crying food
But
If he didn’t say
He felt relief
He’d be lying
True
To his heart
He dialed her number
No answer
“I guess she … Continue reading
To Know me Well – part 1
I’m an obnoxious poet
Because I don’t memorise lines
That won’t sell
Will lead you to believe
I can’t perform
If you don’t know me
Well
From the stories I tell
You might say my best poems
Are when I philosophise
If there’s a heaven or hell
If we’re living in hell or jail
But I’m more of a pleasure snail
I’m saying that
With a wink and a smile
Inside joke
For the women
Who know me
Well
I take my time
Kind of a deviant
Art-ist
So I’m already going to hell
Classified
As an amateur
Professional
Who can tell
That there are women
Who want
To understand these words
Without the experience
I’m saying this
While shaking my head
I don’t kiss and
Spell
Well
That was before
I learned how to ride the waves
Maintaining
The head of … Continue reading
