Welcome

Got Me Thinking

She’s got me thinking
Shy with held back bravery
An old young that’s barely
Been touched
Beautiful on the tree such
Is first impressions
The shape and the figure is a
Concession
Stand
Up and it’s easy to see
The potential for untapped
But desired aggression
And if I mention
In detail
The physical dimensions
It would have to start
From the legs to the thighs
And next it’s the shape
Not the size
That’s always growing
But what was showing was enticing
And the nice thing
She wants it to be my thing
I’m thinking that
That has a nice ring
That’s when I pause
And thinking
That anytime I like things
I lose my focus
Concentrate on the magic
That becomes hocus pocus
And I’m not streamlined
And my love life isn’t mellow
But I remember the runners were
Pink and she might have
Been wearing a little … Continue reading

Actress

I knew this girl who said she wanted to be an actress
Wasn’t the Strugglin’ type
Didn’t know anything ’bout a dirty mattress
Keep that in mind
Because it’s foreshadowing for what the third act is

As a matter the fact is
She wasn’t ugly…she was pretty
Wanted to be on stage
Not the sellouts
Wearin’ the dresses that were backless…

I knew this girl
When she grew up she wanted to be an actress
Met her in grade school
Friend of a friend
And the problem was
She didn’t understand the second act kids

Move to later time in life
Got caught up in a different company…
Life is what it is
I was watchin’ through clouded eyes
Jaded a little
Life wasn’t fun…
So me beein’ me
Is only amused by what I see
Second act in the play
The young actresses mind flew away
Got blown by … Continue reading

The Boy and the Wise Man: Stepping Stones (rough intro)

To understand this a bit better I would suggest reading the first part, “The Boy and the Wise Man: Crossroads” (view). There are many references that draw their meaning from it and other poems. Both “Stepping Stones” and “Crossroads” are in fact parts of a larger creation that is taking a bit of time to manifest.

After the first meeting
We’ve met on and off
Again and again
They didn’t seem to mind
My pad and a pen
The BOY and the WISEMAN
Are who I speak of
They had just invited me
To a party
Birthday the letter said
Good food, good drinks
And bass filled ‘speakas’
Informal
It continued as I read
Jeans and ‘sneakas’
On my way
I decided to take
Another route
The route of a friend
I wanted to know where
His journey began
Since I know where it ends
I took … Continue reading

Poor People – The Consequence of Meaning

I grew my whole life
With poor people
That should make me poor people
But nobody could ever say to us “poor people”
‘Cause we come from a long line
Of proud people
So people
I know some people
Are so, so people
Not remembering back in the day
When food was soso
People
You might not understand
Unless you’ve been through it
Did it how we did it
Joked how we kidded
Before materials were
The joys of life
Before tight jeans and fitted
When clothes were
Stitched and knitted
Hemmed and fitted
Poor people
Nowadays don’t lack things
They lack knowledge
Not education
But honest meditation
Poor people
Are going to lose all
That they’ve gained
Because now they’re
arresting all our artists
Who were explaining our struggles
And pain
Until we have no speakers
And the world doesn’t love us
Again
They want us to go back… Continue reading
