Every tale comes to an end
No one said it would be
Delightful
Or the glass would be half
Or that he’d like the medicine
It held
Or anyone would care how he felt
The inn keeper didn’t
Care about
The fact that he was out of money
Meant this was the end of his story
Truth had spoken to his superior
And agreed to give him time to grieve
That was ending today
He had to leave

Just to make it
For duty in the morning
