Welcome

100 Day Story: Day 02

He hung up the phone
Woke up Saturday morning
Knowing it was a faux
He was committing
Knowing that if it was anyone else
It would be
“Don’t hate the player or the game,
You D-League Jason.”
But her husband’s name is Mason
“And I’m only supposed to be her friend,
Not wondering about possible futures.”
But make no mistake in
The fact that many times
He was tempted to pull the trigger
Especially at times when she
Kept complimenting him
Telling him he was the BIGGER
But a
MAN
Knows what a man knows
He knew he was intruding
On a sacred bond
And if it was anyone else
He wouldn’t mind wearing his jersey
Disguised in a man’s clothes
But as far as women go
She wasn’t one of those
“She’s innocent, I suppose.”
And the path he would lead her down
She would gladly agree
Seeing that … Continue reading

100 Day Story: Day 01

The wedding took place
Honeymoon
And it was now a year and a day earlier
“He’s been out constantly,
Every night. It doesn’t make sense.
Especially now that my investment is greater.”
The voice on the other side didn’t berate her
Making it her solace
When nights alone had become
More frequent
And her loneliness greater
“It’s just hiccups in a life long union.
You know right. The grey areas.”
And so it went
Every night they talked
He continues to defend her spouse’s behaviour
But it seemed
To her
Now that the ring was on her finger
His actions
Said that now he was her husband
He had done his duty to placate her
And her mother was no help
She kept saying
“It’s nothing major.”
“I swear I sense bitterness
And a bit of anger.”
To that the other side of the line gave no answer
“Well, anyways, … Continue reading

Love Drug

I know you love it
You addict
Maybe it’s the way it’s shining
These carats
Now go on eat it up
Like a good rabbit
You remind me of a food inspector
I bet you know where I’m going with this one
Then why don’t you go go get it
Like a good gadget
Style and class you have it
Arrows to the chest
Who automated these “matics”
No one questions because
For a day you’re so glad it’s
Because he finally throws you a line
So you grab it
The day before it felt like
You were going to be left out
So you panic
Your desire was so feverish
They’d say manic
And so far it’s all fun and games
But this story
This is where it gets tragic
So sad it
Could only be the truth
You shouldn’t even be mad it’s
From another dimension
Sliders
Yes … Continue reading

What Poetry Form Are You?

(Where I Saw It)

I am heroic couplets; most precise
And fond of order. Planned and structured. Nice.
I know, of course, just what I want; I know,
As well, what I will do to make it so.
This doesn’t mean that I attempt to shun
Excitement, entertainment, pleasure, fun;
But they must keep their place, like all the rest;
They might be good, but ordered life is best.
What Poetry Form Are You?

(If you were not Heroic Couplets you would be Blank Verse.)

I am, of course, none other than blank verse.
I don’t know where I’m going, yes, quite right;
And when I get there (if I ever do)
I might not recognise it. So? Your point?
Why should I have a destination set?
I’m relatively happy as I am,
And wouldn’t want to be forever aimed
Towards some future path or special

100 Day Story: Day 00

In stories there are no heroes
Just real people
Real people
Whose realities
You can feel
It’s that gray area
Where practicality makes
Love lose its appeal
But then what is love
And is it real
And did you really feel
It doubt crept in
And started to Steal (Steel)
Away the gray
Increasing the appeal
And after all that
If it was lost
Would it still be real life
And was it really real
