It was time to go to work
Morning after
The same scenario repeated
And the tension was greater
You know
Balancing on the edge of a razor
That she thought
She should take out
Shave her…
“What am I thinking?”
Her empowered mind berates her
That he hadn’t done anything to raise her
Arousal
Every time she hinted
It was later
Bottled up
Thinking about buying…
“What am I thinking?”
She asked herself out loud
Was this a repeat of a repeat
Should she get out
But then
She was standing in the doorway
Last night
Earlier
And she heard the title
Why wasn’t she proud
Of the sound
Instead it made her
Heart drop
Obligation
She learned
Was not a saviour
Responsibility
And the child comes first
But mutual happiness was greater
Leave now
Or later
Would he hate her
For leaving again
Would this time be better
Different
Could they be friends
Would he still help
In the growth of her daughter
In the other room
She hears
Nonsense and babbling
Lead to mutual laughter
How would anyone follow
That could fill those shoes
Is it worth her happiness
To maintain what
Her daughter would lose
A figure
That’s the pillar of a household
And it’s not like
There was any abuse
Such comfort
Anybody would choose
But the magic was gone
The passion
Taken out of her shoes
Brings discomfort
In a race
Where somebody
Might suffer a loss
In the price for admission
The cost
