Welcome

Actress

I knew this girl who said she wanted to be an actress
Wasn’t the Strugglin’ type
Didn’t know anything ’bout a dirty mattress
Keep that in mind
Because it’s foreshadowing for what the third act is

As a matter the fact is
She wasn’t ugly…she was pretty
Wanted to be on stage
Not the sellouts
Wearin’ the dresses that were backless…

I knew this girl
When she grew up she wanted to be an actress
Met her in grade school
Friend of a friend
And the problem was
She didn’t understand the second act kids

Move to later time in life
Got caught up in a different company…
Life is what it is
I was watchin’ through clouded eyes
Jaded a little
Life wasn’t fun…
So me beein’ me
Is only amused by what I see
Second act in the play
The young actresses mind flew away
Got blown by many white lines in her nose
I suppose
She was
Private
But the third act had many men takin’ off her clothes…

I knew this girl who said she wanted to be an actress
Wasn’t the strugglin’ type
Didn’t know anything ’bout a dirty mattress
Keep that in mind
Because it’s foreshadowing for what the third act is

Skin porcelain
Raven hair
She dyed it
Hiding herself
Putting on a good show but
Her career was goin’ backwards
Lines kept on getting more and more
She forgot about the stage
And I could tell that she was wastin’ a little money
But it didn’t matter
Wasn’t rich
But she had it galore galore
Losing track of her vision…
Didn’t see the place no more no more

I knew this girl she wanted to be an actress…

Moral of the story is
If you’ve never seen a dirty mattress
You might get stuck
Pretending to be an actress
Or something along those lines
Because I left most of the story out
Didn’t want it to be fact-less
And my one true knack
Is to be able to write a simple rhyme
To convey a complicated point
This
Was the story of a friend of a friend
Who I knew wanted to be an actress
And I’ve seen many take the stage
Fall flat on their face
I told you…
Watch out for the dirty mattress

I knew this girl she wanted to be an actress…
