Book Review – The 12th Planet

The 12th Planet – Zecharia Sitchin (Book 1: The Earth Chronicles)

The origins of man! Where did we come from? Is GOD nothing more than a name for “Alien who needed a work force”? No one has any definite solution for these anomalies. However, there are a ton of factual findings and evidence that separate scientists have found but not put together to form any solid theories or ideas. Imagine the Bible itself being among those pieces of evidence and a priceless archaeological find.

Sitchin takes all of these things into consideration in this his first book in “The Earth Chronicles” series. He not only gives you the raw data so you can take it and formulate your own timeliness – he also offers you his own sentiments as a platform to jump start your comprehension. The research was thorough, documentation was linear and there was no force from the author that said, “Take what I say as law” in any of what he brought across.

This book was brought to my attention by a co-worker and the enthusiasm with which he made the recommendations was enough to get me reading. At first I had thought I had never heard of Sitchin but after a quick search I realized a friend had already sent me the three sequels which I simply hadn’t taken the time to read. After reading this first book I am suddenly invigorated to get through the others. As you start to dive in you can’t help but be anything but captured by the outline and wanting more. (Before you read any further keep in mind this is a debatable non-fiction piece written in the form of a novel. As such the book is based on the author’s interpretation of raw data.) The information was outlined in a way that as soon as you begin to read your mind is filled with questions. The only way to get those questions answered was to keep reading. Although in the end he makes no claim that his answers are the pure and utmost explanation he does give you enough information to check it’s validity and then some.

Read this book to see from a perspective not often offered. Read it to expand your picture of our tiny existence. And beyond that just enjoy the theorising and information provided. There are few authors willing to put together such a compilation.
