Welcome

Cheer for the Villain (Can I Live?)

Is it wrong in movies
That I cheer for the villain
Not the violence or the killing
But that desire for
Success by any means
God willing
I’m against unnecessary blood spilling
But who wouldn’t want to live in a world
Where the meals are more filling
My veins are more chilled and
Maybe that could be the difference
That we’re no longer children
Since then my life’s been poetic
So if I put it in rhyme
Then
Maybe I can make a killing
Have first billing
Be commended
And sit’in sit’in
Use that to make a difference
But I’m told
It’ll never happen
Since my blood is already chilled and
I’m as cold as ice
Why do I need to still be nice
Why can’t I just be like
Movie star villains
Moving like Jordan
With an assist from Pippen
Contradictions
That doesn’t sound so right
Because then I’ll never be seen by mother
Or have any genuine feeling
For the children
I might have in my future life
That doesn’t sound so right
For me to be so consumed
With the future like
An old man
Afraid to lose his wife
Cool story
Right
It doesn’t matter
I still cheer for the villain
And in a perfect world
I’d be right there with ‘em
This isn’t a movie titled like
“A Day in the Life” I’m livin’
I was given
Options
Seen through innocent eyes of children
Who didn’t know what we were growing to become
I was never fathered
Just a son
Who in another time
Would have been led astray
If they handed him a gun
So
I cheer for the villain
Because I understand it
I get ‘em
No need for psychologists
Who will never get the meaning
Of a dirt floor looking at a glass ceiling
Without a hand up
Corrupt cops
Telling you to put your hands up
Bureaucrats deciding what’s legal
What’s free
What’s up
Rebels with a cause
Stand up
But I’m just a man
Who knows that a bad guy
Isn’t always a bad guy
And they already think I’m out killing
Because my plate was so empty
Making me wonder why I didn’t
Succumb
Why am I different
I’m not
I isn’t
This is my kismet
We were walking together in the dark
So
To the light I led ‘em
Healthy food I fed ‘em
Seeing what I can do
Now it’s me they’re dreadin’
I’m the good guy
Killing
A cliché
So I cheer for the villain
They’re me I get ‘em
So
Can I
Ask you
To
Let ‘em
Live
