All the tough talk
Their lack of faux pas
The times they said you were so soft
Saying you didn’t get dirty enough
That you couldn’t soap off
The funny thing about putting one line of truth
In a web of deceit
Is it
Catches the flies and triggers the spiders
Like that one episode of sliders
Where they mixed them with wasps
Let ‘em have it
Are you with me so far
Proclaimed king before I could walk
Lost my legs half way to the throne
And I was so lost
Have enough power to start a revolution
But I’m no boss
They keep saying
Let ‘em have it
Even when my poetry is deeper than anything
You’ve read before
Anyone’s put
In your head before
Because most have never made it that six feet
Never been
Left for dead before
Dug their way back from the flames
Like I said before
They “ain’t” on my level of sediment
They “ain’t” even on my basement floor
So I
Let ‘em have it
Thinking the tough talk
And backhanded insults
Should frighten me
Or get me
Riled up
But me
Where we
Come from
Is a place that if you mess with someone
And they don’t like it
They’ll draw for the cutlass
Leave you breathless
Headless and gutless
So all that rough bark
File it away
Unless you plan to follow through
I could give a fa – less
‘Cause I know that you’re nut – less
The ones willing to get on their knees
To suck seed
For a little bit of success
So I let ‘em have it
Like the mistakes they never made
Or the accidents that never happened
Society convincing them
That middle ground is the highest
And everything they’re doing is righteous
A lie
I know
But if that’s how they want to live
Let ‘em have it
All the tough talk
These bad boys
With good lives
Not knowing that if I tried
I could fa their wives
The contradiction
Walking around in the dark
With more light
Than the moon reflecting the sun at night
If you know where I’m coming from
Came with me this far

Get this
Knowing there’s no anger
Effortless
Don’t bother to explain
