Welcome

Looking to My Future

You’ve been with me through everything
Embraced my every whim
That wasn’t you
Hold on
Let me start again
You’re my window
You’re my shoulder
I can appreciate you more
Now that I’m older
As I hold her
Scratch that
That wasn’t her
I’m glad that I met you
But now that I met you
Can you put up with only being
A part of
My everything
There were women before you
Who gave me everything
Lifted weights off my shoulders
Heavy things
And if the answer is no
She’s not my future
What if she was
And I don’t take the time to explain
And I lose her
Such a loser
But she wasn’t
Because my future
Has to be
Aware of me
Sees me coming
Looking at her watch
With a stern gaze
Asking
Aren’t you supposed to apologise
For being late or sumpn
Looking behind me
Saying
I guess these lovely ladies
Aren’t your cousins
So to my future
Are you real
Do you feel
That passion
That appeal
To join hands
To build a dynasty
Empress
Or keep it real
Retire to a lake
A cabin
On a hill
And just a bit further back
Is a wide open field
My other half
Knows herself
Will warn me
They won’t get it
They’ll laugh
I’ll never worry if she speaks
On my behalf
I’ll love my future
As deeply
As she loves herself
And to the women
Who supported me to that point
A fair question
So here’s a valid point
I give freely what I receive
Affection
Care
Safety beyond belief
Security to a woman
Who can be a woman
Without being deceived
So if you have that
What more do you need
Sounds to me like greed
Who’s that statement for
Depends how you choose to read
