Welcome

“I mean, Listen, We’re Talking about Practice…”

It looks like I have to be angry
To write a good poem
Lately I don’t write for
Far too long
Maybe because the time I have
Is short
And I want to write for
Far too long
I still question where I am
Still looking for a home
To be alone
Frustrated
My break is almost over
And I might come back to this
But my train of thought
Would be filled with stones
Slowing down
Explaining metaphors now
Because no one reads
Irony
Paradox maybe
One day it will be ironic
Writing about the devil
Becoming iconic
A symbol
Pause
While you catch up to the last car
And I sip this tonic
Cures all pains
Even the most chronic
You’re saying too much
Too dense
So I repeat
Sometimes
I think about many things
And I run out of time
Before I run out of paper
And since time ends
There’s never later
We worship what
Celebrates evil
Claim greatness in broken hearts
That pollute innocent minds
Unpacking all of this to find
That they all carry books
Some speak about being divine
And I paused
Hoping I said enough
So you could read my mind
Hoping that if I elaborated
Spelled out the topic
Asked
Got it
You’d get it
And I wouldn’t feel so pedantic
Patronising
Static

Resume broadcasting
Longer break
Maybe that’s what it takes
Out
Order
To have it in
Eat at home
I love to travel
But I don’t love to roam
Because I like to do as I
Please
Kick me out of Rome
Is the worst they could do
Because I was a reaction
Return me home
After smashing their statues to stone
Back to my train of thought
Wondering if history
Can ever be taught
Or should it be lived
To know
If they erased the processes of entire cultures
That thoughts were stolen from
Should we forgive their kids
Who will never have to go through
What I did
Saying too much again
Making no dents
Let me drink this milk and cerasee
Bittersweet
Tying it all together
The question of what really matters
Worshipping evil
Making it your god of wrong or right
Until you fall so low
You lose sight of basic heights
Confused
So you pretend you know
Understand
What is known
Spoken
And you’re still confusing
A verb for a noun
Practise
Reading
Comprehending text
